Popup Message Plugin¶
The Popup Message Plugin shows a blocking warning message at the SAP Customer Checkout POS whenever an article is booked that has a message stored in its master data: age restrictions, deposit notes, allergen warnings, "activate before sale", or whatever you maintain in a UDF field of the article in the CCO Manager.
The message cannot be dismissed from the keyboard. A barcode scanner behaves like a keyboard and tends to send a trailing ENTER, which would silently confirm an ordinary dialog. Here the cashier has to tap OK; only then does the article land on the receipt. An alert sound plays as well (provided sound is enabled on the POS).
Demo: scanning an article with an age restriction opens the warning instead of booking; further scans bounce off, and only OK books the article. An article without a message then books normally. An earlier silent recording: demo.webm.
How it works, in short¶
- Maintain the message in a UDF string field of the article in the CCO
Manager (supported:
udfString1,udfString2,udfStringXL1–udfStringXL4). - In the plugin settings on the POS, select the UDF field to use (setting UDF to use).
- Every time an article with a non-empty message is booked, whether by scan, quick selection, or material search, the message appears as a warning popup; articles without a message book as usual.
