Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't Customer Checkout itself warn about TSE expiry? The standard product shows the expiry date only in the configuration UI ("Technik → Signatur"), and there only after clicking "TSE-Informationen laden" ("Load TSE information"). There is no automatic check against the current date, unlike the CCO license, whose expiry very much is reported on the login screen. The plugin closes this gap.

What happens when the TSE certificate has expired? The TSE then refuses further signatures. Customer Checkout keeps posting anyway and merely shows a generic error toast; the receipts are created without a TSE signature and are therefore no longer compliant with the KassenSichV (the German cash register security ordinance). The plugin makes this state impossible to miss with a red notice and an error dialog, but it cannot prevent it. The only remedy is replacing the TSE in time.

Does the plugin block the POS or delay login? No. The plugin only displays notices. The expiry date is queried in the background and cached; login and sales always continue at full speed, even when the TSE does not respond or no license is found.

My POS runs without a German signature profile. Do I need the plugin? No. Without an active TSE, the plugin stays completely inactive. It does no harm if it is installed, though, for instance in mixed landscapes with German and non-German sites.

Does the plugin send data to a server? No. It reads the expiry date from the local TSE through the TSE integration of Customer Checkout. There are no outbound connections, no telemetry, no license check over the network.

Which TSE models does the plugin work with? The plugin queries the certificate date through the TSE interface of Customer Checkout and is therefore not tied to a particular TSE model; it works with the TSEs your CCO installation connects.

Which Customer Checkout versions are supported? SAP Customer Checkout 2.0 FP21 (on-premise) as well as Cloud Edition 3.0 with FP2502, FP2503 and FP2602, all with one and the same jar.

What does the plugin cost? Nothing. It is free for registered customers and is distributed through the customer portal (portal.stefanbaust.de); the download already contains your license.

Can I change the 30 and 14 days? Yes, both thresholds and the refresh interval are adjustable, see Configuration.

Is the plugin enough to be "KassenSichV-compliant"? The plugin makes sure an expiring TSE certificate does not go unnoticed, nothing more. You remain responsible for the overall compliance of your POS (TSE operation, receipt issuance, reporting obligations); this documentation is not legal advice.
