Installation

Installing the plugin

  1. Download the plugin from the customer portal. Your personal license key is already embedded in the jar; no separate license file is needed.
  2. Place table-plan-plugin.jar in the POS's plugin folder: <POS data directory>/POSPlugins/AP/.
  3. Provide an initial plan, using one of the three ways below.
  4. Start the POS (in Table Service mode). After login, the table overview shows the TISCHPLAN (table plan) tab on the far left.

Without a stored layout the tab shows an installation notice. The plugin never aborts the loading of other plugins or the POS start.

Update: download the new jar from the portal, replace it in the plugin folder, restart the POS. Layout and backups are kept.

Providing an initial plan

Three ways, all equivalent:

  • Draw it at the POS: simply start the POS and create the plan in the table plan tab via "Plan bearbeiten" (edit plan; see Usage). The fastest way for a single POS.
  • Place a file: put a tableplan.json next to the jar (<POS data directory>/POSPlugins/AP/tableplan.json), drawn with the Table Plan Editor (below). The file format is described in tableplan.json — layout format.
  • Seed file: alternatively place a tableplan.seed.json next to the jar. The plugin adopts it as the initial plan on first start, provided no tableplan.json exists yet. Handy for rollout mechanisms that can only ship files read-only.

Layout changes after the installation need no POS restart: the plugin serves the plan at runtime, and the tab fetches the current state when opened.

Installing the Table Plan Editor

The editor for drawing the floor plan at your workstation is included with every release in two variants (both are the same application). You get it from the same place as the plugin:

Variant File When
Program (recommended) tableplan-editor-<version>-<os>-<arch> (.exe on Windows) Starts the editor and saves directly into the real tableplan.json: no downloads folder, no copying back and forth.
HTML page tableplan-editor-<version>.html When no programs may be installed or started: open the file in the browser with a double click; saving places the tableplan.json in the downloads folder.

The program is a single file with no installation and no dependencies (~6 MB) and ships for Windows, Linux and macOS (each for Intel/AMD and ARM). It starts a local editor server on 127.0.0.1 and opens the default browser.

macOS reports unsigned programs as "not verified"; start it once via right-click → Open.

License

Portal downloads embed your customer license directly into the jar, so copying the jar is enough. Alternatively (or as a replacement, for example supplied by support) a file named license-table-plan-plugin.key next to the jar counts; it overrides the embedded license. The complete LICENSE.txt from the download is sufficient as its content.

Without a valid license the plugin disables itself loudly (a log entry plus a notice on the POS) but never blocks the POS start or other plugins. More on the license model under Operations.
