TSE Expiry Warning Plugin

The TSE Expiry Warning Plugin warns you at the SAP Customer Checkout POS well before the TSE certificate expires. Standard CCO does not.

The problem

Every point of sale (POS) in Germany must sign its receipts through a certified technical security system (TSE, "technische Sicherheitseinrichtung"). The Kassensicherungsverordnung (KassenSichV, the German cash register security ordinance) requires this. A TSE certificate has a limited lifetime of a few years. After that, the TSE refuses further signatures and has to be replaced.

SAP Customer Checkout shows the expiry date only deep inside the configuration UI ("Technik → Signatur", i.e. Technology → Signature), and even there only after clicking "TSE-Informationen laden" ("Load TSE information"). No notice at login, no dialog, no job checks the date. When the certificate expires, the POS simply keeps posting receipts behind a generic error toast, silently working without TSE signatures. Those receipts are no longer KassenSichV-compliant, and in the worst case this only surfaces during a tax audit.

What the plugin does

Two escalation levels, modeled on the built-in license expiry warning of Customer Checkout:

  1. Notice on the login screen starting 30 days before expiry, in the same notice block as "Keine gültige Lizenz…" ("No valid license…"). After expiry, the notice turns red and is shown as an error.
  2. Dialog right after login starting 14 days before expiry.

The plugin reads the expiry date directly from the TSE and caches it (default: a query every 6 hours). Login is never delayed or blocked by this. Both thresholds and the refresh interval are configurable; without configuration, the defaults apply.

The plugin only warns. It never interferes with POS operation. If no TSE is active (no German signature profile), it stays inactive.

Requirements

  • SAP Customer Checkout 2.0 FP21 (on-premise) or Cloud Edition 3.0 (FP2502, FP2503, FP2602), with one jar for both product lines.
  • An active German signature profile with a connected TSE.

How to get it

The plugin is free for registered customers and is distributed through the customer portal: portal.stefanbaust.de. The download already contains your license, see Installation.
